IT Support Engineer
Description:
Murphy, McKay & Associates, Inc. IT Support Engineers work within our
clients’ IT departments to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction
in the support of their technology. The main responsibility of this position
is to troubleshoot and resolve a wide variety hardware, software, and networking
issues in a professional and consultative manner. This position will require
the ability to commute to our client locations throughout the Bay Area. The
Murphy, McKay engineer has excellent people skills, superb problem analysis
and resolution skills, and a strong work ethic.
Skill Overview:
- Solve various technical ‘issues’ on multiple operating
systems (primarily Microsoft), vendor software packages (MS Office Suite,
etc.), and client network configurations.
- Install new computers and appropriate software applications
manually or by using imaging technology (Ghost, Drive Image, etc.).
- Perform and/or manage hardware/software inventory
- Support end-users on hardware and software related peripherals.
- May provide technical expertise/training to end-users as needed
to resolve equipment or operator problems
- Ability to discover and resolve technical issues via phone,
remotely or in person
- Follow client helpdesk procedures
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills and a team player
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft OS, Office Suite and Windows
networking
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and basic networking
issues in various environments
- Knowledge of Local Area Networks and Internet connections
- Two years minimum experience performing IT support services
- Experience with Help Desk Tools (tracking, knowledgebase, remote
control, etc.)
- Passed Microsoft XP Professional Exam
